2017 The Land Sydney Royal Showgirls

Posted on : 29 March 2017

What does it take to be a Showgirl? The fourteen finalists for the title of The Land Sydney Showgirl 2017 are a mix of medical and business students, school teachers, volunteers and science graduates.

Their interests lay in free range farms, mental health in bush communities, sustainability and community gardens.  The winning Showgirl will become an Ambassador for rural NSW and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, as well as an important role model for young ladies in agricultural communities. What makes a modern young lady enter a Showgirl competition? With an emphasis on personality, confidence and life goals, this is not a beauty pageant, unless the beauty and passion one feels for their community is part of the criteria. The finalists are proud to be judged on their rural knowledge, ambition and genuine interest in their local community.

The Bush Telegraph wishes all the best to Isabel Boyle and Jaclyn Lindsay, Olivia Leal-Walker and Liberty Nelson, Verity Price, Ellen John and Courtney Loosemore, Isabel Hawken and Maisie Morrow, Meg Austin, Mikaela Dart and Francesca Scutella, Emma Gorman and Olivia McIntosh.
