Top Cat

Posted on : 06 April 2021

Gentle and friendly, but also independent and alert... the Norwegian Forest Cat traces its roots back hundreds of years and has been the star of many a Norse fairy tale. Perhaps they belonged to Vikings... or they were the cats pulling the chariot of the Norse goddess Freya. They have a top coat of glossy, long, water-shedding hair and a woolly undercoat for insulation, boundless energy for tree climbing and playing, and this year one particular Norwegian Forest Cat was named Best In Show at the ADVANCETM Sydney Royal Cat Show.

Bushkenheim Jaxon was named overall supreme exhibit, making owner Karen Gaunt the proudest cat lady in Sydney, and thrilling cat lovers everywhere. A gorgeous, long-haired grey and white boy, Jaxon is no stranger to cat competitions, but taking out the top title at Sydney Royal - one of the most prestigious cat competitions in the country - is one that will be very hard to top.
